food @ your library

What are you doing for food @ your library? It's a topic so dear to every library staffer's heart I bet there are some fabulous projects out there.

Here in Orange we have a FOOD Festival each April and it starts tonight (you think it's serendipity that I coordinate @ your Library and the two collide, there has to be some perks to this honorary position!). FOOD stands for Food Of Orange District. The launch starts tonight in the Orange City Library forecourt and the local wineries and restaurants are currently setting up. Naturally we've been doing a fair bit of lurking in the hope of getting the odd titbit, call us obvious if you like. As you can imagine there are food @ your library posters absolutely everywhere and after this week there won't be a person within a 100km radius who doesn't have a bookmark. Have a great weekend.

Cheers

Jan

Edwina's Gravatar The FOOD Week program looks really exciting and I am sure that the launch this evening will be a great success ! Here's hoping that the Orange Library staff do not eat and drink too much ... except they do have some fine reputations to uphold.

Bottoms Up !

Jas's Gravatar The good thing about FOOD Week (besides the food and wine) is the opening night art exhibition Cuisine & Country continues at the Orange
Regional Art Gallery until Sunday 20 May. The fantastic exhibition explores the evolving nature of our relationship with food through some
creative and diverse works and will be touring the country.

You may also have seen the article in Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald Spectrum all about the exhibition and our enterprising art gallery.
If you miss the exhibition catch up with the Fruitful Landscapes display in the Orange Visitor Information Centre showcasing the city's food
and wine history. And of course it is all within a short walk from Orange City Library. Food for thought.
